The fourteenth
coffee auction of the coffee season 2002-2003
The fourteenth
auction sale of the coffee, 2002-2003 season, took place on october
2nd,2002 at the Coffee Company Office OCIBU.
Out of 756 Tons
of coffee of different grades, 432 Tons have been purchased at a
medium price of BIF 936.42/kg, i.e 57 % of the bid , versus only
180 Tons purchased at the 12th auction (27 %).
In addition,
it's worthnoting that the medium price per kg has gone up from BIF
856.50 to BIF 936.42, i.e increase of 9 %, following notably the
increase of the prices at New York market.
Thus, the prices
at the closing of October 1st, 2002 for the Arabica sales, by December,
are set at USC/Lb 56.55 versus USC/Lb 54.85 a week before.
Seven exporters,
namely CETCO, CAB, TAI, CCE, SONICOFF, CONILCO and BCC have shared
the sold tonnage.
