The fifteenth
coffee auction of the coffee season 2002-2003
The fifteenth
auction sale of the coffee, 2002-2003 season, took place on october
9th,2002 at the Coffee Company Office OCIBU.
Out of 576 Tons
of coffee of different grades, 378 Tons have been purchased at a
medium price of BIF 984.33/kg, i.e 66 % of the bid , versus only
432 Tons purchased at the 12th auction (57 %).
In addition,
it's worthnoting that the medium price per kg has gone up from BIF
936.42 to BIF 984.33, i.e increase of 5 %, following notably the
increase of the prices at New York market.
Thus, the prices
at the closing of October 8th, 2002 for the Arabica sales, by December,
are set at USC/Lb 58.25 versus USC/Lb 56.55 a week before.
Four exporters,
namely CETCO, CAB, CCE and BECABU have shared the sold tonnage.
