The twenty-first
coffee auction of the coffee season 2002-2003
The twenty-first
auction sale of the coffee, 2002-2003 season, took place on november
20th,2002 at the Coffee Company Office OCIBU.
Out of 774 Tons
of coffee of different grades, 684 Tons have been purchased at a
medium price of BIF 1,131.82/kg, i.e 88.4 % of the bid , versus
only 36 Tons purchased at the 20th auction (22 %).
In addition,
it's worthnoting that the medium price per kg has gone up from BIF
1,121.00 to BIF1,131.82, i.e increase of 1 %, following notably
the increase of the prices at New York market.
Thus, the prices
at the closing of November 20th, 2002 for the Arabica sales, by
March 2003, are set at USC/Lb 70.85 versus USC/Lb 63.75 a week before.
Four exporters,
namely CETCO, CAB, CCE, TAI, BECABU,SONICOFF, BCC and COMARCO have
shared the sold tonnage.
