Gitega Branch:
The Client Portfolio
Our previous
report of September 5 gave a general idea about the Gitega Branch
which was launched in September 2000.
Today,
we would like to propose you an overview of its operations' portfolio.
1. Background
 |
Being
the most important administrative centre after Bujumbura the
capital City, the town of Gitega shelters several projects
and socio-economic infrastructures which contribute a great
deal to the economic and commercial development.
Thus, besides big shops and other boutiques dealing with general
trading, the central market of Gitega which is located at
some meters away from Interbank Burundi Branch, is very active.
|
That market
constitutes a breeding ground for the branch's new operations portfolio.
Being also the
central turning point for the development of the central, eastern
and south eastern regions, the town of Gitega is the main supply
center for locations like Ruyigi, Matana, Mwaro and Karuzi and stands
as the link between those locations and the city of Bujumbura.
The Gitega
Branch has become today the major link in this flow of commercial
transactions.
|
2.

This client
portfolio is mainly constituted by customers of the central market
of Gitega, for whom IBB was the first bank's relation, distributors
of the Brarudi brewery products as well as the trading in clothes,
foodstuffs, the collection and the distribution of fresh and dry
food items.
For all these
categories of clients, "the major reason to do business with
Interbank Burundi is related with the quality and the rapidity of
interagency operations", says the Manager of the Gitega Branch
, Mr Jean Charles NTIYANKUNDIYE.
