Follow up and end of our report on Interbank-Burundi Kirundo branch : A brief overview of its business portfolio.

1. Background

The province of Kirundo is located in the North of the country and is populated by nearly 700,000 people.

A big producer of sorghum and beans, stapple dry foodstuffs in Burundi, the province of Kirundo has indeed developped a strong tradition of transactions with other commercial centres like NGOZI , MWARO, GITEGA, etc...

Hence, Kirundo centre sthelters several business of distribution of dry foodstuffs and many boutiques besides a very busy market and rural commercial centres.

Kirundo branch has become the main banker of all those economic agents.

2. The operations portfolio

Kirundo branch is operating with :

Nearly 1,500 operational accounts;
A deposit portfolio of 350 MF ;
A credit portfolio of 300 MF ;
Average daily payments of 35 MF;
Average daily withdrawals of 25 MF ;
And an average daily encashment of 45 MF ;

"These results constitute outcome of trust building with our clients, who hold good relations with the Bank today" said Mr Amedée KADO, the Manager of Kirundo branch.
