Coffee
Campaign 2003/2004 Kick off
With the first
funding on Thursday May 21st, the coffee campaign 2003 -2004 just
started officially for a period of nearly 15 months, while the coffee
campaign 2002 -2003 has not yet ended, the standing funding being
estimated to 11,801.3 M.
Within a new
consortium of 11 banks and financial institutions, expanded therefore
to the Burundi Bank for commerce and Investment, "BBCI",
which was not involved in the coffee campaign 2002 -2003, Interbank
Burundi has been again designated the leader with 18.0 % of the
funding shares.

It is worth
noting that the total funding
needs for the coffee industry during this season are estimated
to BIF 13,878.7 M for an expected production of 6,900 T Washed and
86,900 T ripe grains, as compared to respectively 8,200 T and 166,700
T during the previous season.
