Leader
of the proximity banking services, the Bank is
convinced that this position implies more accountability
towards the collectivities and the local communities
where it is setting up its branches.
Traditionally,
this accountability has been geared towards groups
undergoing hardships or social infrastructures,
the artistic and cultural promotion, sports and
training development.
In

kept close to the populations undergoing hardships,
through its assistance in cash or in goods, and
has maintained its material support to targeted
local collectivities in order to meet their school
or sanitary needs.
In
the field of arts and culture, INTERBANK BURUNDI
has continued enriching its collection of artistic
objects by acquiring new sculptures in wood made
by Burundian artists.
In
the same artistic registry, always anxious to
promote unknown talents, it has ordered realistic
painting works from a young burundian artist,
Léonard Minani, whose know-how made of
him a real hope for the Burundi art.
Concerning
the development of Sports, the Bank has pursued
its traditional support to golf, tennis and athletic
competitions by contributing to the success of
tournaments of “Golf Bujumbura Invitational”
and “Tennis Regional” held in Bujumbura
respectively in May and July 2002.

In
addition, it has successfully organised
the challenge INTERBANK GOLF TROPHY, edition
